About
Founded by Corine Meijers in 2019, Studio Biarritz is an award-winning production house that specializes in audiovisual projects that cross borders. We develop our own projects, but also love collaborating with filmmakers, artists and partners from all over the world to produce stories with a lot of heart that are relevant for our trying times. We cross borders in 1) form, technology and subject matter, in 2) collaboration with filmmakers, artists & partners and 3) in audience reach, distributed on multiple platforms. Studio Biarritz distributes its projects internationally and initiates, when possible, dedicated impact productions as part of the outreach strategy. As founder and creative producer at Studio Biarritz & Stichting Podium Biarritz, Corine Meijers released numerous award-winning projects and won the CFAP award in 2025 (the national NL producers award) where she was praised by the jury as a pioneer who is actively shaping the media landscape of the future. Corine is a member of the board of the NAPA – Nederlandse Audiovisuele Producenten Alliantie.

Dr. Anja Lok, MD, PhD – Amsterdam UMC
Anja Lok is a psychiatrist, researcher, and conceptual artist working at the intersection of art and science at Amsterdam UMC and the University of Amsterdam. In her work, she focuses on mood disorders in adolescents and young adults, exploring how body, brain, and environment interact to shape mental health. She is particularly interested in phenomena that elude classical psychiatric frameworks, such as anhedonia, embodied experience, and the role of the microbiome, and seeks new ways of understanding and treating these conditions, in which art and imagination also have a place.
Polymorf
Interdisciplinary Dutch experience design collective Polymorf designs by any media necessary to create speculative design and multi-sensory experiences using cutting-edge technologies. As such, Polymorf acts as an innovative pipeline across industries by creating strategies for prototyping the future. Their ground-breaking work engages audiences by creating fully embodied immersive experiences. This is reflected in their body of work, which consists of VR experiences, theatrical performances and installation pieces. Their research project Sense of Smell and installation piece, Famous Deaths explores the possibilities of scent for storytelling, strategic communication and media design. Famous Deaths won the 2015 Art & Olfaction Award for experimental scent and was selected for the MIT Canon Moments of Innovation and the IDFA Doclab Interactive Documentary Canon. Symbiosis won the IDFA Doclab 2021 Special jury award for best creative technology in the immersive non-fiction category, was nominated for the EU S+T+ARTS prize 2022. By directly influencing the affective response, Polymorf incorporates visceral meaning in their designs to reflect on the now, the (post-) human condition and the relationships between humans and technology.
