Palimpsest
Through the use of immersivity and interactivity, Palimpsest embarks participants on a perilous odyssey following four forgotten stories, adrift in a symbolic LIMBO OF THE IMAGINATION, in their desperate bid to elude commodification or annihilation at the hands of Western hegemonism.
Palimpsest is an immersive and interactive installation leveraging advanced digital technologies, 3D animation, and video games. The artwork transforms the gallery space into a choreographed environment that follows a branching scenario. Guided via the orchestration of a live gaming experience, a branching CGI film (which evolves based on the video game’s outcome), sculptural artefacts, and affective soundscapes, participants are invited to explore the interconnected elements of the installation and synthesise their own meaning.
Participants are immersed within the desolate expanse of the symbolic LIMBO OF THE IMAGINATION, where four forgotten stories are embarked on a perilous odyssey in their desperate bid to elude annihilation and gain passage to the clandestine POIESIS FACTORY — an elusive sanctuary that promises a resurrection within the plane of immanence.
